God Provides A New Facility for Moscow Christian Library

In March 2006, the Moscow library relocated to a building which we share with Russian missionaries from Evangelical Christian Missionary Alliance.

Christian videos, DVD and audiotapes are becoming the most popular materials taken from our libraries. We now have a location in the south of Moscow surrounded by residential towers, and on a busy footpath. Pray with us for a growing number of curious visitors to find God's truth and love in the library. Director Ludmilla and evangelist Sergey are happy hosts of Gary's family members Jeanne and Letty Timmerman.

St. Petersburg Christian Library & Moscow Christian Library

In our library ministry, we have great satisfaction in knowing that our ministry is one uniquely suited to today's Russian culture - a love for books and an outreach form targeted to open-minded adults and students, and those who approach organized religion with suspicion. Here is what we see developing, but the positive results, and the challenging negatives, which go along with our work:

The blessings:

- Pictures below show that our newly-renovated library in St. Petersburg has given us great potential for holding educational and evangelistic events on-site.
- Our Moscow director Sergey Hudiev is now focused completely as a missionary and teacher; he receives invitations regularly to speak on radio and lecture in places of higher education; he conducts two weekly talk shows on radio; and he teaches in the library at weekly seminars.
- the choice of quality literature continues to increase.
- we gather testimonies every month from people who are finding spiritual satisfaction from drawing closer to God and Christian fellowship through our ministry.

The challenges for which we need prayer:

- our Moscow facility is rented, and we face annual increases that soon will become unmanageable. The staff in earnest is searching for a smaller, cheaper place.
- there's a steep decline in the amount of reading that Russians are doing, now that media and other recreation is more available
